History of Mahoney Lawyers

History

The firm’s managing partner John Mahoney has been involved in property and commercial  law since 1978.  In 2002 John left a CBD firm of which he had been a partner for some years and founded Mahoney Lawyers. He was joined by Matthew Manz and Antony Harrison who have since become partners and many of the staff from his previous firm.

Over the years the firm’s growth has been steady, with increases in staff and clients. The firm outgrew its premises in Edward Street and moved to its current location in 167 Eagle Street in January 2005 where it leases a whole floor with space to grow over coming years.

Although the firm has always had a presence in the Gold Coast market, in order to service its many clients on the Gold Coast, the firm opened a full time office at the emerging commercial centre of Varsity Lakes in June 2009. Matthew Manz is the firm’s partner  at the Gold  Coast office.

With litigation expert Ben Seccombe becoming a partner in 2009, the firm now has four partners and a number of senior and junior lawyers, with a total staff of some 25 people.
