Position

Matthew is a partner of the Mahoney Lawyers, and was admitted as a solicitor in 2002 after 2 years of articles under John Mahoney. Matthew heads the firm’s Gold Coast office at Varsity Lakes.

Qualifications

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Laws which he completed in 2000 at the Queensland University of Technology.

Experience and Services

Matthew began working with John Mahoney after completing his Bachelor of Laws in 2000. During that time he has focused on the area of management rights and all aspects of strata title developments. He became an associate and then a partner at Mahoney Lawyers in 2009.

Matthew has acted for many clients in the management rights field in relation to a multitude of complexes both large and small. Matthew’s clients are located in diverse areas such as Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sydney, the Sunshine Coast, Cairns, Port Douglas and Northern New South Wales.  Matthew has also acted in  management rights matters in both Victoria and Western Australia.

Interests

Matthew's interests are quite varied. He loves sport of all kinds. He has, in the past, been a member of the Queensland and Australian junior hockey teams and has also played Cricket for South West Queensland on numerous occasions at a junior level.

Matthew has a deep interest in music and plays a number of instruments. In particular he has studied and played the guitar for many years. With a family of 3 young boys who are displaying Matthew’s sporting talent, much of his spare time is taken up with taking his sons to a multitude of sporting events.
